Don Cherry Early Career
Cherry started his career as a hockey player. In the early life, he played junior hockey with Barrie Flyers and the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey Association. In 1953 cherry won the Memorial Cup as a defenceman Barrie Flyers. Then he joined the American Hockey League’s (AHL) with Hershey Bears.
In 1955 cherry played his only NHL game. He played 20 years in the minor league. He retired in 1970 as a player. He played 19 final games with Rochester Americans. He won Calder Cup 4 times.
After retirement cherry works as a Cadillac salesman and a construction worker.Also, he works as a house painter, earning $2 per hour. Cherry become coach of American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans in the middle of the 1971-1972 season and the coach of the year.
